You can also just make a little shell script

 #!/bin/csh
 source .cshrc

 sswidl

then in python

 import pidly
 idl = idl = pidly.IDL('path to script')

I try the same methode to make a correction of Hinode SOT pointing with data from SOHO MDI. It seems to me that it did not work as well that it works for TRACE and SOHO EIT. Did someone ever try to do this for an Hinode map ?

What if I want that map1 + map2 (over map1) = map 3 ? How can I make a single map with 2 map that I overlayed ?

Sir,

 Very nice techniques are given here.

 I have EIT/195 fits images.. and I want to extract only coronal hole regions from those images and find out the area and flux from those images.
Also I need to find average heliographic co-ordinates from the coronal hole region? How to put boundary for coronal holes ?

How can I do this ?

Regards,
manju
